Are Mini Sessions Worth It?
If you've ever seen a photographer announce mini sessions and wondered:
“Is twenty minutes really enough?”
You're not alone.
The answer is yes—for the right family.
But mini sessions aren't a cheaper version of a full session. They're two different experiences designed for two different needs.
A Mini Session Might Be Perfect If...
You want beautiful updated family photographs without making an entire evening out of it.
You need a photograph for your holiday cards.
Your children do well with a quick pace.
You really just want a handful of photographs you love.
Or maybe your husband considers twenty minutes of family pictures approximately nineteen minutes too many.
I understand.
For those families, minis are wonderful.
My fall mini sessions are 20 minutes and include 8 beautifully edited images for $400.
What Happens in Twenty Minutes?
We work quickly, but it shouldn't feel frantic.
I'll photograph everyone together and then keep you moving and interacting.
Instead of trying to create dozens of elaborate poses, I'm looking for a small collection of beautiful photographs that feel like your family.
When Is a Full Session Better?
Sometimes you need more time.
A full family session is the better choice if you want a larger gallery, more variety, a slower storytelling experience or have children who need more time to warm up.
It's also what I'd recommend if creating an album or a collection of artwork for your home is important to you.
My full family sessions are $750 and include 40 edited images.
You're not choosing between the “cheap” and “expensive” option.
You're choosing how much of your family's story you want me to photograph.

What If I Love More Than My 8 Mini Images?
You can upgrade your gallery after you see it.
So you don't have to make that decision before your session.
So, Are Mini Sessions Worth It?
Absolutely—when what you want matches what a mini is designed to give you.
If you want a quick, beautiful update of your family, choose the mini.
If you want me to tell more of your family's story, choose the full session.
Either way, don't wait another year because you're trying to choose the “perfect” option.
Your kids aren't waiting.
